News & Events for Oct 7-13
Heartland Healthcare Service: Four times a year we do an afternoon service at Heartland Healthcare in Whitehall. The next service is Oct 14th. We ask that you prayerfully consider taking part in this ministry, especially families with kids, as it is a tremendous opportunity to minister to those who may not have family or even visitors. Please talk to Karen Packard to volunteer to be part of this wonderful minstry!
Timeout Helpers Needed: We would love to have some more help for the Timeout ministry. The first meeting had 50 moms and 50 kids! It is 2 hours twice per month. If you can hold a baby or help a toddler color a picture, we could use your willing heart. Please contact Erin O’Connell.
THRIVE Ministry Items: Kerri Wood will be serving with THRIVE ministries (a conference that serves missionary wives around the world) at the end of October. She will be serving in the Philippines and items were specifically requested by different missionaries. There is a list on the bulletin board to sign up if you would like to send items. Please drop items off at the church office no later than October 21.
Answers in Genesis Conference: Oct 28-29. Check out the website for more information. Handouts and posters are available at the Welcome Center.
Food Pantry Focus: The food pantry focus for October is canned goods and boxed rice/macaroni dishes. If you are able to donate, please put your donations in the blue “food pantry” totes.
Faith Promise Update: Just a reminder that the Faith Promise budget year ends October 31st. The amount promised for 2017-18 $65,789. We are currently at $58,286 given. Please be sure to mark your gifts “2018 Faith Promise.” And continue to pray for God to provide and be in prayer for next year’s Faith Promise.
What is Faith Promise? Based off of the Macedonian churches in 2 Corinthians 8-9, Faith Promise giving is the way that we fund our missions ministry at RCC. It is a separate from our general budget and is stewarded by the Missions Committee to provide for our supported missionaries. We encourage your Faith Promise to be an amount above and beyond your regular giving as the Lord leads. Please be in prayer as you seek God’s direction for what He would have you give for Faith Promise over the next twelve months. Faith Promise cards are available in the lobby and will be collected during our October 14 service.
The Hymn of the Month is “All Hail the Power of Jesus’ Name”. For more information on this hymn go to bit.ly/RCCOct18
